About

My background and training as an Art Therapist was a major determinant in my decision to become a Psychologist and Psychoanalyst. I was enthralled by the power, curative possibilities and revealing nature in the creative process. As a result, my area of particular interest is in working with artists, writers, photographers and individuals in the theater and music industry. I am an interactive therapist with extensive postgraduate training. When possible, I use humor in our sessions, pretty well I am told, a bit of sarcasm now and then as well!
Whether psychotherapy or psychoanalysis is the chosen technique that we utilize, dreams, poems, artwork, music composition and journals are used as additional sources to assist in our gaining a deeper understanding of the unconscious. Freud believed, as do I, that the roots of conflict lie in our unconscious. Here is where insight begins.
My suggestion to individuals who are seeking therapy is to meet with several therapists until it feels like a good fit. The training and years of experience of the clinician, although critically important, is but one determinant in your search.
